Riebs Khoza, General Secretary Sandford Community Trust
Riebs Khoza represents the Sandford community of 1,600 households in the Hazyview area. The Business Trust designed the Maruleng and Bushbuckridge Economic Development Initiative (Mabedi) to assist communities like Sandford to secure investment, acquire skills and develop their newly acquired property.
The programme has helped to raise R1,5bn in investment for the area and created over 4,600 jobs. Mabedi was a partnership between the Business Trust and the Department of Co-Operative Governance.
