Sphelele Dlamini, Monyetla Learner at Aegis South Africa
The Monyetla Work Readiness Programme was developed by the Business Trust as part of the Business Process Outsourcing Sector Support Programme. Monyetla provided employer-based call centre training to 3,526 unemployed young people like Sphelele. A minimum of 70% of graduates were employed on completion of the training. The support programme, which was a partnership between the Business Trust and the Department of Trade and Industry, has helped to attract new investment to South Africa which will create 100,000 new jobs by 2014.
