Shared Growth Challenge Fund

The Shared Growth Challenge Fund aims to harness and leverage the private sector's capacity for innovation, investment, risk-taking and growth, to facilitate the inclusion of poor people who have been historically excluded from participating in and benefiting from the formal economy.  The Fund has received business proposals from private companies for projects that combine profitability with high social impact. Through the provision of matched funding, the R35million encourages established businesses to extend their core activities in ways that benefit the poor.
