Project Challenge	Small towns in South Africa are currently severely underserviced in terms of entrepreneurial support, and as a result most incubators operate from large commercial centres. Smaller towns normally lack high quality business incubation access. It is not normally economically viable to open incubators in small towns due to long breakeven periods. Raizcorp has the pedigree and experience to adapt to the real challenges that entering a market such as this will provide. With the grant from the challenge fund, Raizcorp has the opportunity to take on a new potential (risky) market and deliver high quality entrepreneurial support services to people who would otherwise never receive these benefits.
Expected Project Impact	In the short term, support to 42 entrepreneurs in 28 SMEs, with 56 jobs created Increased incomes to > 100 businesses and 150 entrepreneurs over 5 years, with up to 500 people employed in longer term Transfer of significant business/entrepreneurial skills Network effect: local internal market where companies trade with one another; access to 200 businesses operating within Raizcorp Potential proof of business model to be replicated in the long term to isolated areas
