In its second year, Sizanani, a four-seater three wheel bicycle, was introduced to the Long Run. The run followed the N3 to Durban and Umtata, and then along the garden route to Cape Town. Trevor Manual, Minister of Finance, and Penuel Maduna, Minister of Justice, rode the last stretch and joined a festive event in Kayalitsha.

"In 2003 I had the pleasure of participating in the run into East London where our manufacturing plant is situated. This Business Trust initiative is truly inspiring as it draws together business people from all walks of life, to publicly demonstrate commitment towards partnerships forged in the interest of the greater good of the country" - Dr Hansgeorg Niefer, Chairman of DaimlerChrysler South Africa

Comments from participants: "I would like to say a very big thank you for a wonderful event. The Business Trust Long Run has some great advantages as people established new friendships and we had a chance to see more of our beautiful country." - Pitso Moahlodi, Harmony
